What Has Happened Since Our Vision Trip
Last October our family had the opportunity to travel to Guinea on a vision trip with Hope Ignited.
We came home from that trip with so much to process. Seeing the people, the needs, and the ministry happening there left a deep impression on our hearts.
The kindness we experienced, the joy we witnessed, and the relationships we began
forming with the missionaries and Guineans made it clear that this was more than just a short visit. Somewhere along the way, our hearts became deeply connected to the people there.
During our time in Guinea, we were also able to witness firsthand the impact that access to medical care can have. Things that might seem routine in the United States can be incredibly difficult to access for many families there.
Seeing both the need and the resilience of the Guinean people deeply impacted our family.
But the heart of this ministry goes far beyond medical care. While meeting physical needs is incredibly important, the deeper purpose is to share the love of Christ. Every clinic visit, every conversation, and every act of care is an opportunity to point people to Jesus. The goal is not only to help people physically, but also spiritually — to share the hope found in Him.

We believe deeply in the words Jesus spoke in the Gospel of John:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6
Our prayer is that through acts of compassion and service, people will not only receive care for their bodies but also hear about the love and salvation offered through Jesus Christ.

As we prayed and processed everything we experienced, we began to sense that this was not simply a place we had visited. It was a place God was calling us to GO. The months since returning home have been a season of both discernment and waiting.
During that time our family has also walked through several unexpected health challenges. We have dealt with a number of health issues and even a couple of surgeries, which slowed our plans and required us to pause in ways we didn’t anticipate.
While this season hasn’t looked the way we expected, it has been a time where we have seen God’s faithfulness in very real ways. Through doctor appointments, recovery time, and uncertainty, God has been teaching us so much about patience, trust, and dependence on Him.
Even in the slower moments, God has continued to confirm the direction He is leading our family. Right now our days are filled with many practical steps as we prepare for the future.
•packing and sorting through years of belongings
• working on projects around our home
• meeting with people and sharing about the ministry
• raising support and building a prayer team
• trusting God to guide each step ahead
Some days feel exciting.
Some days feel overwhelming.
And some days simply feel like learning how to wait well.
But through it all, we can truly say God has been GOOD.
The people of Guinea have left a lasting mark on our hearts, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue pursuing what we believe God is calling our family to do.
Thank you for walking alongside us in this journey.
