Are you going to sell your house?

Currently we are looking into rental options.

Are you selling all your stuff?

We will be selling/donating most of our possessions.

What about your animals?

Magnum, the dog, may go with us to Guinea as guard dog, pigs will be slaughtered and eaten for Thanksgiving/Christmas, chickens will be left and Cookie the cat may finally get his wish to be an inside cat for the new tenants of our house.

Who is Hope Ignited?

They are a small organization dedicated to reshape the imagination of the people of Guinea towards God’s coming Kingdom through gospel centered healthcare and capacity building programs.

What will you be doing in Guinea?

Life:

Live with missionaries amongst the Guineans

The children will go to school with other missionary children

Work:

Heath will work in the clinic as a pharmacist.

Sheri will work with guest services for hospitality of visitors.

Why are the Tiebens moving to France first?

The official language of Guinea is French. To better serve the people of Guinea, we will attend a French language school for Christians who are preparing to serve in French-speaking countries.

When do you leave?

We plan to be in France for language training by August 18th 2026.

What will you be doing in France?

We will be at CENTRE D'ENSEIGNEMENT DU FRANÇAIS learning French, the official language of Guinea.

How long will you be in France?

We will be in France for language training for 11 months.

How long will they be overseas, in Guinea?

However long God asks us to be there. Some of the missionaries with Hope Ignited have already been there for over 5 years.

Where will you live?

-In a hut

-A van down by the river

-JK, we will either live on site in the missionary apartments or rent a house near the clinic.

How do you share the gospel in Guinea?

-Sharing God’s word and speaking the Gospel Truth at all times as guided by the Holy Spirit

-Showing the Gospel by living amongst the Guineans

-Show the Guinean children that they are loved, valued and cared for to in turn raise up a generation that knows the truth about Jesus’ love for them.

What’s Guinea like?

The parts of Guinea that we saw were eclectic. Some of it was beautiful landscapes with mountains and waterfalls. Other parts are packed with people, buildings, trash and chaotic traffic. Overall it is a place filled with people who don’t know they are children of God, yet! Please talk with us in person for a better picture.

How can I pray specifically?

-Praise to our Heavenly Father for a call such as this and enabling us to go!

-Please intercede for the Guineans. Pray that God softens their hearts, opens their eyes, ears and minds to receive the good news about Jesus that we are bringing with us.

-Pray that God will multiply harvesters, that is, send more missionaries to Guinea, to bring in the harvest of souls.(Matthew 9:37-38)

-Pray for safe travels to France and that God will allow us to learn French well. That the children will connect well in the public schools.

Will you be able to come back and visit?

Yes! We will have home assignment based on our family’s needs.

Yes! We can’t wait to see who God brings to Guinea to visit.

Can I send care packages or letters?

We are not able to receive any packages or letters. Every year there is a shipping container that is sent with supplies for the clinic and the missionary families.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes, those donations given through First Christian Church of Dodge City and through Hope Ignited’s website.
